At home on earth we believe that sustainable handcrafted products are much more than objects: they are the reflection of a conscious lifestyle, in balance with nature and people. Our goal is to support artisans and keep these crafts going. Our story begins in 1998, when Mette, originally from Denmark, and Stefan, from Germany, met in Indonesia. From that meeting was born a common project that unites two passions: natural design and respect for the planet.
Surrounded by seascapes and forests since childhood, both understood that their purpose was to create something that would give back to the world some of that beauty. Thus home on earth was born: a brand that combines craftsmanship, sustainability and timeless aesthetics.
A journey of inspiration and respect
From Southeast Asia to Europe, Mette and Stefan have traveled the world collaborating with local communities that keep craft traditions alive. Out of these experiences emerged a collaborative network that guarantees fair processes, responsible materials and unique pieces.
Each organic handicraft item we offer is the result of this exchange: an object with history, made with care and designed to accompany you in your daily life.
From the world's markets to a sustainable store in Barcelona
In 2003 Mette and Stefan presented their creations at international fairs, music festivals and medieval markets, bringing their philosophy closer to people from different countries. In 2003 they settled in Barcelona and, in 2010, they opened the first sustainable store in Barcelona, in the Raval neighborhood. Four years later, their second space was born in Boqueria street, a place where every detail transmits serenity, balance and respect for the environment.
Today, home on earth is a meeting point for those looking for a natural decoration that combines aesthetics, awareness and authenticity. Each product tells a story, and each story is part of a more human way of living.
